The One World Children's Foundation was honored this week by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the U.S.S. Midway. Dr. Mitchell received the award on behalf of the One World Children's Foundation, in a ceremony featuring San Diego mayor Kevin Falconer, former NFL player Terrell Fletcher, and four other community organizations recognized as bridge builders in San Diego. It was a privilege to see our work honored at this prestigious event in celebration of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was inspiring to realize how much work goes every day into making connections and building bridges between communities, work that is vitally important but less visible than the work that sometimes goes into dividing those communities. The future is full of hope, connection, diversity, and unity in One World!
