Bridges Beyond Borders

Updated: May 7, 2019

It's been a busy season for the One World Children's Choir! Our director, Aaron Mitchell, has been traveling each week between rehearsals in Del Mar, California and Ensenada, Mexico. Both choirs have been learning new language skills--Spanish for the California kids and English for the Mexican kids. In addition to working with the Esperanza Azteca Youth Choir and Orchestra, Dr. Mitchell has also been teaching weekly music classes at the Reino de Los Niños Orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico to give them the experience of empowerment through music, and allow them to participate in our upcoming concert. What an amazing experience it has been!

No matter where life's circumstances have placed us, we are all a part of the same human family. The message we share with the children in each location is one of empowerment, using music to reinforce a message of self-worth, the value of education and hard work, and overcoming challenges. We can't wait to blend our voices together in our collaborative concert next month!
